Giza's most distinctive feature is probably its clear, unambiguous outline. By emphasizing the contours, her works appear two-dimensional at first glance. But despite all this flatness, Giza brings a kind of flattened spatiality into her pictures.
Her figures and objects overlap and intertwine. The subject is often dissected and arranged over most of the picture area. The individuality of what is depicted in each case gives way completely to a symbolizing simplification, which sometimes almost comes under the patronage of “bad painting”.
